This book was a cute read and I really enjoyed it and I loved Geoff and how the author wrote his POV as a teenaged male very accurately. Most female authors attempt to do this and they fall short and their male characters end up sounding like or reading like a female. The author wrote sweet Geoff very well, so well that I felt that he was a real person and I love that about this book almost as much as I love his smart witty comments/comebacks. Laine was a nicely written character too but her character had flaws that were not flaws that could be overlooked. What I mean is that her love for Evan wasn't as believable with how quick she got over him and his ____ and quick profession of her feelings for Geoff at the end. The storyline wasn't done completely correct and I say this due to the naked pic of _____ that was placed all the school lockers, sent via text, and social media. The issue with this was the fact that the culprits who did this weren't dealt with realistically or at all for that matter. The principle didn't get involved nor did the parents of the offended student and the offenders. While Geoff beating up ____ the way he did was a good thing but that wasn't enough. It was slightly disappointing because the author did such a good job writing Geoff so realistically that it didn't extend to other characters or situations. Overall the book was enjoyable and I would recommend it other to read for it's price.Tags : Prince Charming - Kindle edition by Sara Celi, S Celi, Ashley Ruggirello, Julie Titus, Lauren McKellar, Amy Elisabeth Spasoff. Prince Charming eBook Sara Celi S Celi Ashley Ruggirello Julie Titus Lauren McKellar Amy Elisabeth Spasoff Reviews
I read this novel in one sitting. It wasn't what I expected (even though I'm not quite sure what I expected but this wasn't it ha). That's not a bad thing. The characters are relatable and the situations are very realistic. I know people dislike characters who tend to flip flop, but to me, that's more true to real life. I admit, I flipped a handful of pages without reading them simply because I already assumed what would happen. But, despite that, I still really enjoyed this novel.
Needs more editing because the narration kept mixing up the twins (Blake and Bruce) in the middle of the scene where they're having their big fight, as well as a few other points. Actually was annoying enough for me to drop my rating by a full star.
This is my first S. Celi book and I'm kicking myself for waiting this long to read her. The synopsis is what drew me in, not the title or cover, but a story about a boy who longed for more.
Prince Charming is empowering, sweet, sensual and funny. I absolutely loved the character of Geoff and how he evolved chapter after chapter. He is the true epitome of Prince Charming. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next.
Prince Charming is everything the title says. This is your modern day Cinderella only we're hearing from the Price instead.
This review is MY opinion of the book. Please read the synopsis before deciding to purchase this book.
Prince Charming is a reverse Cinderella story. Geoff Miller feels his life is miserable and he cannot wait to graduate and get out of his town. His mom remarried after his dad died and he got to evil stepbrothers, Bruce and Blake. He has liked Laine since the 7th grade but Geoff was always in the background. He gave up on fitting in and concentrated on his grades. He has three good friends, Josh, Nathan and Mark. However, one day, things change and Laine gives Geoff some hope. Things don't go well though and Geoff struggles with all that is going on. It isn't until graduation that Geoff learns the lesson he should have learned throughout high school. You can't let life pass you by. You have to go for what you want or risk never having it. Sara Celi gives you the male spin on Cinderella and although Laine found her Prince Charming in Geoff, Geoff found his Princess in Laine.
High five on a great story and fabulous characters! I enjoyed this story from the beginning and found myself glued to the pages.
Let's just say it's been awhile since I've walked the hallways of high school but the reality is the emotions and truth of it all are timeless. Reading from the POV of Geoff Miller was refreshing and a nice twist. He is the boy next door. Geoff could have been any boy USA, just trying to make it through his Senior year under the radar (everyone's radar). Geoff, however, has a crush on Laine Phillips, the most popular girl in school and has a hard time keeping that little secret. Will Geoff have the guts to go for the girl?
Laine is the beautiful, sweet, popular girl who is dealing with living up to everyone's expectations. However, geeky Geoff seems to be the only one who truly sees the real Laine!?! Did I mention that she is already dating the most popular boy in school? Sorry, I forgot that tidbit. By the way, their relationship is well...you will just have to read the book to find out. Oh, and the drama, it is everywhere, no disappointment in that category.
This story takes on so many real life issues faced by teenagers and Sara does a great job taking you on that ride. I found myself crying, then laughing, then cheering the characters on. It is a fabulous coming of age story that takes the characters through their last year of school.
Enjoy the ride and the memories!
