OMG! Absolute, utter perfection! THIS is Jordan Silver at her best!!! A crazy-as-a-loon alpha (that you can’t help but love); a loving, yet troubled, but strong heroine (that you can’t help but root for); a hilarious inner monologue from Evan anytime he encounters his brother; wonderful side characters; intense/hot/panty-melting/not-for-the-twat-brigade sex scenes; a cutie pie, steal your heart daughter... Like I said, CLASSIC Jordan Silver and I wouldn’t change a thing! The only problem is that I can’t find an alpha like this in real life... So until I can, I will just enjoy the fantasy that Jordan creates for her readers time and time again! Oh yeah, did I mention that the alpha is a teeny bit crazy AND yummy?!?!?

I love Ms. Silver as she walks the fine line between Alpha and jerk. Usually, the curve is made and H is all Alpha...sadly not in this case. I kept reading hoping and waiting for the switch but it never came. He was angry he had feelings. Came across as immature and unworthy of her love to me. I still love ya, Ms. Silver, but this story didn't do it for me.
Ms. Silver's Alpha's are always over the top, just like I like them. Poor Evan didn't know what to do with all his fine Alpha self. He ran into a girl that didn't want to give him the time of day, made him work for it, hard. This book was a very pleasant read. Once you started, it was really hard to put down, so I didn't. I would rate this book up there with Caleb's Blessing and Bret's Little Headaches, two other perfect reads from Ms. Silver. Just loved it.
Let me start by saying I loved Evan's over the top alpha behavior. I also like everything involving Amber. Everything else was a complete waste of time. Even the sex scenes, which were far too descriptive and just got boring with the ling drawn-out details EACH AND EVERY TIME. Gia's whole excuse for her holding back was stupid and childish. Overall I was so bored that I skipped thru most of it. There is very little dialogue and all of it occurs in Evan's thoughts. That was dull as Hell. I don't feel like living in their brain the entire book.
This one was a little harder for me to get into. It started off kind of slow for me. Then , when Evan found out about Gia's daughter I couldn't get over the fact that Evan continuously referred to Amber as "the child". It felt too much like he was disassociating her from Gia and the situation by not referring to her by her name. Also, the details of Amber's condition and hospital stay were so unrealistic. A little research to make the story more accurate would have gone a long way. This was not one of Jordan's better books. Just OK for me.....
You have Evan who is very Alpha, wealthy, smart, stubborn and owns his own Architectural firm with his brother that they inherited. He has a very nosy Mom and brother. Gia is not of wealth but very smart, sassy, stubborn, and closed off emotionally except to her 4 year old daughter. Gia just got hired as their new Architect by Evan but this isn't the first time he's seen her. Gia has not had an easy life. She grew up in foster care and became a widow too soon and is now a single Mom. Although she has no problem being sassy to Evan, she's is closed off emotionally. Evan is a very jealous man and tries to get Gia to be more open emotionally to him. This is really big for Evan as he is already in love with her. He feels it's hard to compete with her deceased husband but he tries to hang in there and he knows there's something she's scared but of what he doesn't know. All of this is getting very stressful for the both of them. And now Gia has done something to hurt him and pisses him off. Can he forgive her or does he move on? Does Evan continue to fight for Gia's heart and soul even though he has her body? Is that enough for him? He knows he won the daughter over. Does Gia finally let go and gives Evan all of her? Does Evan finally finds out what Gia is so scared of? Or was it too much for either of them? You must click on buy and read to find out. There's a lot of Hot steamy sex where of course you have your Dominant male and your submissive female.
This story started out different from what I’m used to from Madame Butterfly. The speed and build up between Gia and Evan was slow and steady. While there was chemistry brewing it was sweeter and paced well with his chase of her. But when he claimed Gia, Ms. Silver came out hot and hard! Sex so hot I’d advise you to have your hunny on standby!
Gia’s fears and Evan charge! attitude have placed this story firmly in my reread Silver pile! No one writes a dominant and Alpha man like Jordan Silver!!
My emotions were all over the place reading this book, some more intense than others. I love the strong personality Gia portrays and the fact that she has her week and needy moments just endear her character more to me. Her life has not been easy, no she has suffered immense loss time and time again, but throughout all the crisis she has endured and keep getting up and living (even though sometimes she got weary, alone and scared). I think the all consuming love she has for her daughter Amber, lend to her inner strength and stubbornness to continue fighting the good fight.

Evan is use to women falling all over themselves to be with him. But then his world collided with Gia's and she has this hold on him that he can't shake and is not sure if he even wants to. She is different from his usual women and she does not show any interest in him at all (so he thought at first), but little by little he started noticing certain tells about her reaction to him being around her, and then he decided she will be his wife. No one has ever brought out this jealous rage in him, but she does and he can't help the way she makes him feel just being in her presence.

Amber is so precious, I love how her character came alive after meeting Evan. The interaction between the both of them are so cute and heart warming. I can't forget Gavin (Evan's brother), his character is so mischievous and hilarious. Is constant baiting of Evan was fun to read.
