I have read and loved all of the Dragon Lords books, but was really excited to read this expanded Dragon Lords Anniversary Edition. This expanded edition is better and even hotter than the original!
Morrigan is a reporter who accepted an assignment to go undercover as a prospective bride with Galaxy Brides in order to expose the company. She never really thinks that she will be chosen as a bride, there is no way she is staying on a primitive planet, and never believes that one of the princes would actually choose her.
Ualan is the future king of the Draig on the planet Qurilixian and is a hot, hunky dragon shifter. Each draig was given a crystal at birth that glows when they meet their destined match. Ualan is happy with fate's choice for him, Morrigan is beautiful, spirited, and he wants her more than anything.
Morrigan should have done a better job of reading all of the information given to the brides about their possible future home, she didn't upload everything about the wedding ceremony and wedding night, so she didn't exactly know what was happening or what was expected of her.
In this anniversary edition, the wedding night is hotter than it ever was, thank you to the author for finally allowing the reader a glimpse into what the bride and groom can use the chair for (HOT)! The book does a really good job of expanding on the back story and setting up the reader to read about the three other princesses and gives some information about the Dragon Lord's cousins.
I loved this book, Michelle M. Pillow's world is so much fun to read about and really draws a reader in. Read this book and you will be hooked. Love scenes are really hot and come at the right time in the book, highly recommended reading!

This is the first in an exceptional series, a must read if you like paranormal romance with some steam. Quilixen is a planet of mostly males in need of wives to continue their lines. These guys are dragon shifters (the Draig), very alpha warrior types and way too hot for their own good. They also tend to be stubborn, and clueless how to deal with the women they procure from a corporation that provides, for lack of a better term, a matchmaker service. Unfortunately the brides they send have no idea what they are truly getting into! Morrigan (Rigan) Blake is an intergalactic reporter hell bent on getting the story about the rumored princes attending the festival to choose brides. Of course she accidentally (through sheer ignorance of the customs) marries Ualan and of course he is one of the princes. Being pretty pig headed herself she does not respond well to his domineering ways. It looks like the marriage is doomed and there is no way out of it, but after two poisonings, a few skirmishes with the Draig’s enemy the Var (cat shifters), and some helpful advice from the Queen (good old Mom ) Ualan and Rigan open themselves to the bond between them and fall in love. Highly recommend this and the rest of the series!
Awful. Uploads all sorts of information about the culture except about the breeding festival and anything that would be useful for the position she was putting herself in. Rigan doesn't know how to cook anything, which I can understand, but doesn't know how to clean. At all. I feel like we're supposed to believe that she's an intelligent person, but can't even figure out how to wipe a counter down or clean a floor?? Just throws a bowl of soapy water on the floor and walks away? UGH. Also, her incessant baiting of Ualan and the overall way she talks and acts is the worst.

Beyond how much I disliked the character, Rigan, I also thought the plot skipped over a lot of events. You wouldn't even know they were at war except a princess gets kidnapped and people get poisoned. But it's all so briefly and vaguely mentioned that the author might as well have just left it all out.

I can't recommend this book to anyone. Not even if it was free and you were desperate. Walk away. If you want to read a story on dragon shifters, go to G.A. Aiken's books. The only blessing is that this was a short story and didn't take much time to finish. In hindsight, I wouldn't have even bothered finishing it.
I first read The Barbarian Prince over a year ago. I personally think the original cover suited Ualan's description better than this cover, but that's the extent of my unhappiness with this anniversary edition.

It's the same great story with the same wonderful characters, and I love how she balances the importance of the characters with the importance of their environment. This isn't just a romance, it's a whole other world , and her writing reflects that the world they live in is a key element of the novel.

I also love how the anniversary edition makes new references that tie it closer to the other novels in the series. I cannot say enough about how much I love this book, this series, and this author without major spoilers - so I'll leave it at this If you are into creative story lines where the romance is saucy and heartfelt, you'll truly enjoy this book.
Morrigan Blake decides she is going undercover to find out what happens on the bride ships that r going to other planets. so she goes as a bride. big mistake. as soon as she gets off the boat she sees a tall handsome body to die for blue eyed man. Ualan, knows she is his mate. as soon as she goes by his amulet starts shining bright blue. but she has to choose him r she will not be his mate. But she isn't going to choose anyone. her plan get in get the info get back out before the ship leaves. does it go that way, nope.. the book was cute if a little drawn out at times. worth the read..
